I found this game and this soundtrack during one of the hardest periods of time in my life and it became home for me when I didn't feel like I had a physical one. Between Friends also reminds me very much of my best friend, and reminds me that our friendship stays close even when we aren't.
Favorite track: Between Friends.
Inspired by his work on the highly anticipated indie game The Gardens Between, Tim Shiel presents an album of rich ambient music that resonates with the game's core themes of time, memory and childhood.
Glowing Pains seamlessly weaves together elements from the game's otherworldly score with improvised contributions from many of Tim's closest musical friends from around the world, to create an album that is as gorgeous and as moving as the game that inspired it.

every time I come back to this album it kind of blows my mind how incredible it is. I like "video game music" but mostly just have fond memories of simcity 2k and phantasy star online soundtracks. this is on a whole other level. it's enhanced by my memories of the game of course, but it really does tell the story and stand on its own. brian

This is music for walking into the depths of the woods and forgetting about the world beyond the trees.
Joyful, mysterious, and wistful, these tracks are a perfect soundtrack for a magical adventure. Other suitable times to play this album include: when you need background music for your D&D session; while you're staring out the window on a foggy day; during a lengthy study/work session and need focus music.
